Surgeon who provided elective amputations at Falkirk in Scotland. He was able to do two amputations, and then the media got wind of it, and it made such a racket in the news that the hospital withdrew permission for further surgeries, and Dr. Smith apparently nearly lost his medical license over it. It made a lot of ugly noise in the media.
