Vickers, Robert

Robert is a 64 year old realised wannabe. He was able to become a LAK amputee in the 1980s and hasn't looked back since. Since then he have written several pieces on his experiences and in August 2006 he appeared on Australian TV on "Enough Rope" with Andrew Denton. This was a chat show on national public TV, and aired as about 16 minutes discussing BIID and his realisation with Andrew. See links to the video download. The transcript is available on this site. Also on this site is a paper I delivered to psychiatrists, ethicists and students at two Melbourne teaching hospitals.

As an amputee BIID, I can not write with authority on variants such as paraplegia, blindness, deafness etc.
